Versions & undo¶
Nothing you write in Nabu is ever truly gone — this section shows you how to step back, restore, and keep snapshots of your script as it grows.
As you work, Nabu quietly keeps a trail of your script's history. Some of it is automatic; some of it you trigger on purpose. When a change doesn't go the way you hoped — a typo, a scene you'd rather not have rewritten, or an AI draft you accepted too quickly — you can go back. These pages explain exactly how.

History & versions — Save a named snapshot of your whole script, restore any earlier state, rename and pin the versions that matter, and download a full backup. This is your durable safety net: it survives refreshing, closing the tab, or coming back days later.

Undo & redo — The quick, in-the-moment ways to reverse a change: undo and redo while you type, and the one-click Undo that appears right after Nisaba writes to a scene.
Which one do I want?¶
- You just typed something and want it back the way it was a second ago → start with Undo & redo.
- Nisaba rewrote a scene and you'd rather keep your original → the per-scene Undo in Undo & redo.
- You want a snapshot you can return to next week, or you want to restore an older draft of the whole script → that's History & versions.
Tip: A good habit is to Save Version before any big change — a major rewrite, an import, or letting Nisaba reshape a chunk of the script. It takes one click and gives you a clean point to come back to. See History & versions.
