A tour of your settings

Where to find every setting in Nabu, and what each page is for — so you can change your name, control notifications, manage your devices, and share Nabu with a friend.

Everything about you — as opposed to any single screenplay — lives under Settings. Open it from the Settings button in the top-right of your dashboard — a plain text button labeled Settings. It opens on your Account page. Settings is a quiet, app-wide area: there's no Nisaba panel or project status bar here, because nothing on these pages belongs to one project. Changes you make apply across all your screenplays.

Getting around Settings

On a computer, Settings has a slim icon rail down the left side. Hover over it and it expands to show labels. On a phone, the same pages live behind a menu button (the hamburger ☰) that opens a drawer.

The pages are grouped into four sections so related things sit together:

  • Account — who you are and how you sign in: your profile, your signed-in devices, and your notifications.
  • Workspace — settings for your writing space: your model preferences and what Nisaba remembers about you.
  • Plan — credits, billing, and sharing Nabu: your subscription, referrals, and invites.
  • Developer — tools for connecting Nabu to other software: API keys and webhooks.

Note: During Nabu's private alpha, a few of these pages aren't switched on yet for everyone. In the menu they appear dimmed with a small soon label and you can't click them: Billing, Referrals, API Keys, and Webhooks. The one sharing page that is live for alpha writers is Invites — that's where you share Nabu with friends today. Everything in the Account group, plus Models and Memory, is always available.

What each page is for

Here's the whole map, page by page. Where a page has its own how-to, the name links to it; the rest are written up here on this page for now.

Account

  • Your profile and account — Your name, handle, bio, avatar, and contact and social links. This is also where you export all your data, set your privacy choice about helping improve Nabu, install Nabu as an app, and — if you ever need to — delete your account. (The web address /settings/account lands here too; the profile page is your one identity-and-data home.)
  • Sessions and security — Every browser or device you're currently signed in on. You can sign out of this browser, sign out any other device, or sign out everywhere else at once. This is also where you connect Google or Apple as one-click sign-in methods.
  • Notifications — Choose which kinds of messages Nabu sends you. Each type can be turned on or off, and each shows whether it appears as a quick pop-up (a Toast) or in your Activity list. Important error and account-safety alerts stay on and can't be muted.

Workspace

  • Models — Your model preferences: you can choose which AI model drives your Writer (the part that drafts and rewrites scenes) and your Chat with Nisaba, picking a different model where one's offered. There's also a handy reference list of common actions and roughly what each one draws on, plus the workspace-wide background AI switch if you'd rather Nabu only worked when you ask.
  • What Nisaba remembers — The notes Nisaba keeps about you as a director — your taste, your habits, your recurring choices. You can confirm, edit, or delete anything here, and see a summary of your "director identity."

Plan

  • Invites — The codes you can share to let friends into Nabu during the alpha. Copy a code, share it, or send it by email, and see who's claimed one. This is the live sharing surface for alpha writers.
  • Referrals — Your referral link and the credits you can earn when friends you refer start writing. During the private alpha this page points you to Invites for sharing.

  • Billing — Your credit balance, what you've used this cycle, the subscription plans (Free, Pro, Studio, Enterprise), and credit packs you can buy. Current pricing is always shown in the app.

Developer

  • API Keys — Keys that let other software or an agent talk to Nabu on your behalf, for example the Nabu command-line tool. Most writers never need this.

  • Webhooks — A way to have Nabu notify another service when something happens (like a job finishing). Also a developer feature; most writers can ignore it.

Good to know

  • Most edits save themselves. On pages like your profile, your changes are saved automatically as you go, so clicking away or closing the tab won't lose them. A Save button is there too if you'd like to be sure — it just flushes whatever's pending.
  • The dimmed pages aren't broken. If Billing, Referrals, API Keys, or Webhooks look greyed out with a soon label, that's expected for the alpha cohort — they're simply not switched on for you yet. Use Invites to share Nabu in the meantime.
  • Settings is global, not per-project. Whichever screenplay you had open, the same settings show — these are your settings, not the project's.
