Getting Started

Everything you need to go from "I just signed up" to "I'm writing my screenplay."

Nabu is where you turn a story you can feel into a screenplay you can finish. Nisaba — your AI writing partner inside Nabu — carries the heavy structural work so you can steer the creative vision. This section walks you through the first three things every new writer does: getting in the door, starting a project, and finding your way around.

Work through these in order the first time. After that, come back to any page when you need a refresher.

In this section

  • Creating your account — Sign in with your email (no password to remember) or with Google or Apple, and find your way through the welcome screen.
  • Your first project — The three ways to start a screenplay: ideate with Nisaba, write from a blank page, or import a file you already have.
  • A tour of your workspace — Where everything lives — your project dashboard, the editor, and the menus you'll use most.

Tip: Nabu works best on a laptop or desktop. One feature — the Coverage / Script Doctor feedback feature — needs a desktop screen for now. Most everything else, including the guided start-a-script wizard, works on your phone too.

What you'll be able to do after this

  • Sign in and reach your dashboard — the home screen that lists all your screenplays.
  • Create a new project from scratch, with Nisaba's help, or by importing an existing script.
  • Open your project in the editor and recognize the main parts of the screen.
