Title page

The cover page of your screenplay — title, author, contact details, and an optional cover image — laid out the industry-standard way.

Every finished screenplay opens with a title page: the title, who wrote it, and how to reach them, centered on a clean cover. Nabu gives you a page where you fill those in, then shows you a preview of how it'll print. You can also add a cover graphic and an optional cast page.

To open it, click Title page in your project's sidebar.

Filling in the fields

The page opens in a read-only preview. To fill in the fields, click Edit in the header — that's what turns the page into a form you can type into. There's no Save button: while you're editing, each change saves itself a couple of seconds after you stop typing. When you're done, click Done to go back to the preview.

The fields you can fill in:

  • Title — the name of your screenplay.
  • Credit — the credit line (for example, Written by or Screenplay by).
  • Author — your name.
  • Source — a "based on" line, if your story is adapted from something.
  • Draft Date — the date of this draft.
  • Contact — your contact details, over as many lines as you need.
  • Copyright — a copyright line.
  • Notes — any extra notes for the cover.
  • Revision — a revision marker.

Clearing a field on purpose is respected — Nabu remembers that you emptied it rather than quietly refilling it.

Note: Nabu keeps a backup of your edits on your own device while you type. If a save never reaches Nabu — say you lose your connection or close the tab mid-edit — Nabu offers your unsaved words back the next time you open the page, so you don't lose them.

The preview

When you're not editing — that is, after you click Done — the page shows an 8.5 × 11 paper preview of your title page exactly as it'll print, with your title block laid out the industry-standard way. If you add a cast page (below), it appears as a second sheet right after it. To make a change, click Edit, type, then click Done to see the preview update.

A cover image

You can put a picture on the cover instead of the plain text title:

  • Upload a cover graphic (PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 5MB).
  • Replace it with a different one, or Remove it to go back to the text title.

When a cover image is present, it takes the place of the text title on the page.

A cast page

Tick the Characters page checkbox to include a cast list page right after the title page — in the preview and in your PDF export. Leave it unticked to skip it. (The cast page is a PDF feature; a Final Draft export carries your character list as typing autocomplete, not as a printed cast page — see Good to know below.)

Undo and redo

While you're editing the title page, Undo and Redo buttons (and Cmd+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z) step back and forward through your recent field edits in this session.

Good to know

  • Your changes save themselves. Like the rest of Nabu, the title page has no Save button — once you're in Edit mode, just type, and your changes are kept.
  • The title page flows into your exports. When you export your screenplay as a PDF, the title block — and the cast page, if you turned it on — is laid out on the front of the script just as the preview shows it. A Final Draft (.fdx) export includes the title block too, but not the cast page: instead it carries your characters as autocomplete suggestions while you type in Final Draft.
  • Updating the title refreshes the app. Changing your screenplay's title here updates the title shown elsewhere in Nabu without a reload.
  • This page is feedback-free. Nisaba doesn't write your title page for you — it's yours to fill in, and nothing here spends credits.
